I appreciate each one of you and your dedication to the ministry of music. It's not a separate entity but a part of whole ministry. A special song by an individual or the choir is not just hung out there on its own. It's really a part of what God wants to use to speak to someone, to help someone, to encourage someone. But from way back in King David's time (and perhaps before), 'Sing', 'Praise', and 'Meditate' are words you find that are linked together.
Psalm 104 verses 33-34 NIV: "I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to as I rejoice in the Lord."
As we praise and sing to our Lord we are meditating on Him. As we praise and sing to the Lord our hearts are lifted and we find ourselves rejoicing in the Lord. Is it worth our time and effort to set aside some time in praise and song and meditation? Absolutely!
"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving in his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100 NIV
